Aobei Village in Beijing is a residential community in the Arts and Crafts style, comprised of sim-ple organic forms and materials in opposition to the uniformity enabled by mass production. The fluidity, motion, and irregularity of plant, material, water and landforms in the gardens as well as the small community parks respond to the repetition and order of the homes and streetscape. On every scale, the design encourages observation and interaction in the tradition of the Arts and Crafts movement.
