Preserving, maintaining, and enhancing the site’s ecological function is the driving force behind this Master Plan. By reexamining the local agricultural vernacular and harnessing the site’s natural filtering potential, Ryan Associates developed a sustainable residential, recreational and educational plan for this Chesapeake Bay site, accommodating desired programming while incorporating ‘green’ technologies such as treatment wetlands, bioswales, green roofs, and permeable parking surfaces.
